Our Mission
D-AR exists to transform lives and communities in rural schools in the Northern states of Argentina by creating sustainability and ending physical and emotional poverty.
D-AR, as a 501(c)(3) organization, is looking to impact the school experiences of rural school students in the Northern States of Argentina. We started working with school#332 in the State of Jujuy. This school is known as “Los Niños Pintores” (The Painting Children). In our first visit to this school in September 2022, and after talking with its Principal Mrs. Lucrecia G., we fundraised to bring Art Materials for the 60 current students. As we got excited with the project, we got surprised with the all-student presentation (check the images in our portal). That presentation had a few paintings, a Big Welcome sign, and local dancing.
It was our first fundraising effort to help us donate art materials to 60 rural students in Chucalezna, Jujuy, Argentina.
Chucalezna is a very small town in the State of Jujuy , Argentina. Its community has 60 farmer families.
We have the honor to share a full day at the school#332 of Chucalezna.
When we started searching for rural Elementary Schools in the Northern states of Argentina, we came across of School#332 in Chucalezna, Province of Jujuy, Argentina. The school’s name is “Los Niños Pintores” (The Painting Children). This school is located 1 hour and 40 minutes from Jujuy Capital (San Salvador de Jujuy). After a phone conversation with the school principal, we have a basic idea of the school needs. Then we started preparing for our first visit.
This was our first project. We traveled to Jujuy, Argentina in September 2022 with the defined purpose to meet for the first time with the staff and students of this rural school #332 staff and students. Knowing that the school is known as “Los Niños Pintores” (The Painting Children), we fundraised in order to be able to buy all art materials from a school suplies business located in Jujuy’s capital city to help these children with their painting projects. Those art materials included drawing pencils, crayons, drawing paper, watercolor painting, oil painting materials, brushes, acrylic painting materials, sketching books, color pencils, etc.
In our firt visit, we also brought two tablets to the school staff so they will be able to search art projects for the students.
During the month of November 2022, and beginning of December 2022, our organization coordinated to drop off English books, CDs, and videos to provide to the volunteer English teacher with tangible materials for students from kindergarten to 6th grade. All materials were donated from an English Institute owner Mrs. Sonia O. who lives in the state of Jujuy’s capital.
We were in the planning stage of getting some laptops for this school, as another Foundation installed a satellite dish that provides Internet services, so students can learn technology, research art pieces, as well as communicate with other rural schools in their area.
